Red Sox History

The twins club I'm a member of had their annual fund-raising auction last Friday night. The big finale item was one of the printing plates used to actually print the front page of the Boston Globe the day the Red Sox won the world series last year. (There are less then 40 of these plates that were actually on the presses. One of them hangs in Theo Epstein's office.) Steve and another guy were in the final bidding, and instead of jacking the price way high, they opted to do the manly thing and flip a coin - winner take all. Steve won the flip. So we made a large donation (i.e. the winning bid amount) to the Attleboro/Taunton Mother's of Twins club and came home with a piece of Red Sox history. It now hangs as the centerpiece of the 3-season room. =)
