1st race... 1st WIN!

The race season has begun. Steve secured 4 sponsors this year - which gave us a new paint job, new graphics, t-shirts/sweatshirts and parts/service at a Ford dealership. Way To Go Steve! Here's the 2010 racecar with the new paint scheme and graphics.

Yesterday was the first race of the season... and Steve WON! YEAH! He took the pole during qualifying, then led every lap till the checkered flag.

Happy daughter!

Unfortunately, as every racer knows, a new paint job is merely a bulls-eye on the track. And such was our luck... during the first turn on the first lap, Steve had side-to-side contact with another car. They were racing inches apart at over 100mph. Thankfully, the damage isn't too bad - tire marks and a few broken fiberglass pieces. Now it just looks like a real racecar again!

Broken fiberglass under the "Franklin, MA"

Chip on the top, tire marks on the white and a crushed side-rail from the tire on the "SRF".
